On Engineer's Day, Google Doodle Celebrates M Visvesvaraya's Birthday. An Engineer so popular and devoted to the life of engineering, Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya's birthday is celebrated today as Engineer's Day. Fondly referred to as Sir MV, M Visvesvaraya was a world-renowned civil engineer who was a master of irrigation design. He was also referred to as the father of engineers by many. Google dedicates its doodle today to celebrate M Visvesvaraya's 158th birthday who is known to have lived by the phrase, "Work is Worship". The doodle today has a color sketch of Sir MV with a sketch of a bridge in the background.  The bridge, among M Visvesvaraya's most notable projects, is a representation of the Krishna Raja Sagara Lake and dam. In 1924, Sir MV designed the Krishna Raja Sagara Lake and dam, the largest reservoir in India at the time, and oversaw the construction of the project. Google Celebrates This Day With A Doodle Google is celebrating Teachers' Day 2018 with an animated doodle as a tribute to every teacher around the globe. The doodle is that of a spinning globe with spectacles that is surrounded by many a subjects. Sports, music, astronomy and chemistry being a few of them depicting knowledge need not just be bookish. Teachers' Day is celebrated in India on September 5 while World Teacher's day, designated by UNESCO is celebrated on October 5 every year. We celebrate Teachers' Day on September 5 as a tribute to the second president of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was an exemplary teacher. He was also a philosopher, scholar and politician and his dedicated work towards education shaped up the youth of the country. Google Doodle: Google Celebrates Birthday Of German Artist Oskar Schlemmer With A Doodle Oskar Schlemmer birth anniversary: Google paid tribute to this german artist. German painter, sculptor and choreographer Oskar Schlemmer would have celebrated his 130th birthday today. To commemorate his birth anniversary, Google Doodle has honoured him with a tribute. The path-breaking artist's most famous work is "Triadisches Ballett," in which the actors are transfigured from the normal to geometrical shapes. Also in Slat Dance and Treppenwitz, the performers' costumes make them into living sculpture, as if part of the scenery. Google's doodle, too, is similar to how the painter-choreographer would present his rather unusual ballets. Google added a dedication to the artist stating, "With three dancers, 12 movements, and 18 costumes, Oskar Schlemmer's innovative approach to ballet broke with all convention to explore the relationship between body and space
