Pi Day (3/14) falls this year on Wednesday. But you don’t have to remember that pi represents the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter (uh, yeah, we had to look that up) to take advantage of these pizza pie and other pie-related promotions:
— The Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza chain is again offering its custom-made 10-inch pizzas for the price of $3.14. Locally, the chain has locations in Concord (Concord Avenue), San Jose (one on Coleman Avenue and one at Almaden Plaza), Fremont (Pacific Commons), San Francisco (Stonestown) and just outside the Bay Area in Tracy (Grant Line Road). The company, which is backed by investor LeBron James, among others, baked about 250,000 pizzas on Pi Day last year.
— Get a large one-topping pizza from participating Papa Murphy’s locations for $3.14. Customers must place the order online (discount will be applied on March 14 orders), then pick up their take-and-bake pizza. There are more than 20 franchises in the Bay Area; check the order page for locations.
— Villa Italian Kitchen will celebrate the holiday with 17-inch Neapolitan cheese pizzas for $3.14. Just present the restaurant’s Pi Day coupon on your smartphone or in print. In the greater Bay Area, there are locations in Milpitas (Great Mall), San Jose (Eastridge), Livermore (S.F. Premium Outlets), Daly City (Serramonte), San Francisco (Stonestown), plus Salinas (Northridge Mall). Download the coupon from www.villaitaliankitchen.com/piday.
— Want to spice up your baked goods, cereal or coffee? Penzeys Spices is selling jars of its Pie Spice, a blend of cinnamon, mace, nutmeg, ginger, clove and vanilla sugar, for $1. You can take advantage of the offer online or at the Menlo Park store, 771 Santa Cruz Ave., 650-853-1785. No coupon or code is required.
